Hello & Bienvenue!

Hi, I’m Vanessa Hutchinson-Szekely, a meditation teacher and the founder of Big Belly Breathing 🌟

Meditation is a powerful tool for everyone—and it’s especially transformative in mid-life. Yes, you heard that right. Let’s embrace the narrative of “mid-life transformation” and celebrate this incredible era. Meditation can be your ally as you shift into the best version of yourself, stepping into your second bloom.

With nearly 25 years of experience as an educator and holistic health advocate, and deep French roots from Haute Savoie (La Yaute!) and California, I created Big Belly Breathing to make meditation accessible and share simple, joyful mindfulness practices that ignite energy, clarity, and creativity.

Do you want to feel good? Then this community is for you—because that’s our goal at Big Belly Breathing. Our motto is simple: Breathe. Move. Eat. Rest.

In the daily hustle, meditation helps you show up as the best version of yourself. #NOTRUERWORDS :)

Meditation nourishes not just you, but everyone in your circle.

As a content creator, I’ve designed a podcast, guided meditations, journals, and courses that make mindfulness fun, easy, and accessible—for you and your whole family.

Whether you're starting your own practice, introducing mindfulness to your kids, or finding more balance at home, my vibrant, user-friendly content is here to help.

Let’s infuse joy, color, and mindfulness into your life—together! 🌿💫

Let’s boost our collective joy—one breath at a time!

Guiding Principles:

  • Physical, mental and emotional health is built through habits & self-discipline.

  • When these routines & rituals are established young, they lead to happier and healthier adults.

  • Every child deserves the opportunity to learn robust health education and mindful rituals from an early age.

  • Everyone is welcome here—inclusion is at the heart of what we do. 🌿💫

Think of it this way: just like we learn to brush our teeth to prevent cavities and gum disease, learning mindfulness routines helps us take care of our mental and emotional health.

By building these habits: we can better manage anxiety, stress, focus issues, and mood swings while boosting our energy, creativity, confidence, and overall joy.
